Backpack and Snack Program

The Cedar Mountain Club has been running a backpack and snack program for the members and their families for several years now.  It’s purpose is to make sure that at-risk youth are being fed even when they are not under their direct care.

The Evening Lions support this local program by collecting and delivering food items at each of their meetings. The Evening Lions meet twice a month allowing adequate opportunities for members to support this valuable community project.

Sport Program Sponsors

HSV Evening Lions Club sponsors the after-school sports programs run by the Boys and Girls Club.  Summer Baseball, Flag Football, and Soccer are among the teams supported each year.   Lions look forward to assisting with these sports programs.

Holiday Meals

Lions support our HSV community by funding the annual Boys and Girls Club Christmas meal program.  Sponsorship of this program allows the Club to send home food baskets for each Boys and Girls Club participant in need.  We work to help with hunger and food disparity as part of our Lions initiatives. This past year, we purchased 25 turkey dinners and 15 ham dinners for families during the holiday season.

Angel Tree

Individual Lion Members also personally “adopt” Boys and Girls Club children or families by providing Christmas gifts so all families can celebrate Christmas.  Gifts are purchased from a supplied suggestion list created by parents and children.  In 2023, Lions were able to sponsor 12 children by purchasing Angel Tree items, ensuring every child was able to celebrate Christmas.
