This is yet another activity where the Evening Lions provide support and assistance to wipe out hunger. Members travel to Hot Springs and assist in the generation of the food boxes that are distributed to several counties, including the Hot Springs Village area.
Project HOPE Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) charity. Contributions provide the food bank with the ability to reach out to the 50 agencies they serve within seven Arkansas counties.
They operate as a pooling of resources, helping to support area non-profits that do not have the assets to purchase or store enormous quantities of food. Purchasing food wholesale in large lots for the best price helps homeless shelters, charity kitchens, food pantries, crisis centers, children’s homes, school backpack programs, and children’s feeding programs to fulfill their missions. Impact in the community is extensive due to these resources: a donated warehouse, debt-free equipment, and a volunteer workforce that includes our Executive Director and Inventory Specialist.
