The Hot Springs Village Evening Lions Club proudly supports the Cedar Mountain Club's vital backpack and snack program, which ensures at-risk youth receive proper nutrition even when not under direct supervision. This essential initiative bridges critical nutritional gaps for vulnerable children in our community, providing food security that contributes to better health, improved academic performance, and overall well-being.
Our Lions members demonstrate their commitment to this cause by collecting and delivering food donations at each of our bi-monthly meetings, creating consistent support for Cedar Mountain's efforts throughout the year. This regular collection schedule makes it convenient for members to contribute, while providing a steady stream of nutritional support for local children in need.
We welcome the following individually wrapped, unopened items to support the Cedar Mountain program:
Protein Options:
Fruits & Healthy Snacks:
Grains & Cereals:
Beverages & Quick Meals:
Note: All items must be individually wrapped and unopened. Easy-open cans are preferable. Please, no homemade goods.
Our support for local youth extends beyond the backpack program to include:
Sports Program Sponsorship
The Hot Springs Village Evening Lions Club sponsors after-school sports programs run by the Boys and Girls Club, including summer baseball, flag football, and soccer. These sponsorships help ensure all children have access to organized physical activity regardless of financial circumstances, promoting health, teamwork, and positive development.
Holiday Meal Program
We fund the Boys and Girls Club holiday meal program, providing complete turkey and ham dinners to families experiencing food insecurity during the holiday season. This initiative ensures dozens of families can celebrate with proper nutrition and dignity, reflecting our commitment to addressing hunger and food disparity in our community.
Angel Tree Participation
Individual Lions members personally "adopt" Boys and Girls Club children or families by purchasing Christmas gifts from parent and child-created wish lists. This heartfelt program ensures every child experiences the joy of receiving gifts during the holiday season, regardless of their family's financial situation.
Through these coordinated initiatives, the Hot Springs Village Evening Lions Club demonstrates our unwavering commitment to supporting the complete well-being of local youth—addressing nutritional needs, physical development, and emotional health through targeted, compassionate service.
